coming from or passing through an infected area. Clients
should bring sufficient medication with them if required

before your departure to Myanmar regarding hepatitis,

Voltage
The voltage in Myanmar is 220-230 Volts AC. Most of the
international hotels have their own generators. Other
places may experience power cuts and voltage fluctuation
which can damage equipment like computers.

IDD telephones and fax facilities are available in most
hotels.

Credit
Cards & Travelers Cheques
Credit cards are only accepted at a very few major
hotels. We suggest to bring a sufficient amount of cash
for personal expenses. Travelers Cheques may be very
time consuming to transact. You must bring the original
purchase agreement for the traveler’s cheques with you
as proof when cashing your cheques. Banks are closed on
Saturdays, Sundays and all public holidays.

Food
Myanmar cuisine represents an intriguing blend of Mon,
Indian, Bamar and Chinese influences. The core of any
Myanmar meal is ‘Rice’ eaten with curry dishes commonly
are fish, chicken, prawns and mutton. Beef and pork are
of little eaten by Myanmar people.

Water
Only drink purified bottle water. Bottled water is
readily available and some hotels provide complimentary.
Carry a bottle with you throughout the day.

Cloths
Sun hat, sun glasses, light jacket or warm cloth, sandle,
light casual wear preferably cotton, small flash light,
sun protection cream or lotion, insect repellent.

Mobile
Phones
Hand Phones or Mobile Telephones from other countries
currently do not operate in Myanmar. Customs will hold
your telephone upon arrival and you can collect on your
departure.

Entrance
Fees
Entrance fees are collected at the famous pagoda,
temples, monasteries, museums, old palaces and
archaeological zones. Tickets offices are at the sites.
