Surrounding Area in Inle
Taunggyi
Taunggyi, a bustling mountain town is the capital of
Shan State and hill station cool and pleasant all the
year round. The local market is crowed with ethnic
minorities in their traditional dresses.
 Kakku
Kakku, located 42 km from Taunggyi is two hour drive
through Pa O tribal villages. Kakku village and ancient
Kakku pagodas in ruins would be visible. It is a unique
temple complex of more than 2000 year old pagoda.
Kalaw
Kalaw, a former popular British hill station, a quite
town at 1300 metres above sea level with an atmosphere
reminiscent of the colonial area. This small town is the
best place, cool, quite and pleasant for a rest. It can
be make a soft trekking to Pa O and Palaung hill tribes
of surrounding area in Kalaw.
Pindaya
About 45 km drive from Kalaw is Pindaya well known for
its extensive limestone caves in which thousands of
centuries old Buddha Images. Pindaya Shan papers and
umbrella made of bamboo paper and rice paper are famous
among the country. The town is a starting point for
treks further afield to Palaung, Taungyo and Danu hill
tribe villages.
